Whoever you are: call for change
The Redistribution Revolution needs policy change. Right now, it’s cheaper for a business to waste perfectly good food than to give it to people. That’s the wrong way round, and we can fix it.
Redistribution should be the default route for all surplus food, ahead of animal feed, anaerobic digestion or landfill.
To achieve this, we need a change in the tax code so businesses can claim deductions for donated food and all associated costs, making redistribution the most economically viable option. A small change, with revolutionary results.
