Warehouse Volunteer
Sort, check, and prepare food for delivery to communities.
As a Warehouse Volunteer you’ll play a vital role at the heart of our operations. You’ll be involved in a range of practical activities, from quality checking and sorting food deliveries to preparing orders and helping keep the warehouse running smoothly.
Volunteering in the warehouse is ideal for anyone who enjoys practical, physical work and wants to make a meaningful difference in their local community. The work is active and varied, offering a great opportunity to build confidence, develop practical skills, and meet like-minded people. With flexible shifts and full support from staff and volunteers, it’s a rewarding way to give your time, be part of a team, and help ensure that good food is never wasted.
Role and responsibilities
- Sorting and quality-checking surplus food and non‑food deliveries
- Picking and preparing daily orders for local community groups
- Re‑traying bulk items, labelling, and safely storing food in the warehouse

Being welcomed and supported as part of the Felix family – normally on the fantastic Tuesday morning warehouse shift at the Enfield depot – is a weekly highlight for me. Everyone there is committed to tackling waste and helping the local community. Whether it’s sorting vegetables or working through a pick list for a local food bank or school it’s great pulling together as a team whilst rocking along to our favourite playlist.
